WETLOOK LASHES ALL ABOUT THIS STYLE

WETLOOK LASHES ALL ABOUT THIS STYLE

Why are wetlook lashes extensions so popular?

Beauty trends go in and out of style but one thing’s for sure – eyelash extensions are here to stay. Keeping up with the trends and fads can be challenging but one trend is taking the world by storm!

Wetlook lashes actually first became popular in 2019 with clients liking the original Kim K Hybrid style. The look is created by using narrow closed up fans – yes, the ones we used to throw away as they were not fluffy enough! They mimic wet looking lashes, stuck together hence the name. People have been embracing the textured look more in recent times instead of the soft fluffy look which is reminiscent of many strip lash styles. Wetlook lashes the perfect summer accessory they go great with dewy, sun kissed skin.

What are wispy wetlook lashes?

Wispy wetlook lash extensions are created by combining fans of different lengths, curls, wide and closed up fans to achieve more density and volume. This way the wet look extensions gain a more dramatic look with noticeable spikes. B-Curls are best suited for the spikes and lighter weights 0.05 and 0.03 as we are combining multiple lashes onto one natural lash.

Who are wetlook lashes for?

Wetlook lashes are a great way to make your eyes look sultrier and more attractive. Best suited for people with healthy natural lashes and people with close-set eye shapes. Not so suitable for people with curly lashes, lashes that grow down or thin sparse lashes.

Tips on how to create this look.

  • In order to achieve symmetrical looks when placing spikes you must follow a map, without a map you are placing blindly.
  • The spikes should be 2-4mm longer than the base fan depending on how dramatic or subtle the client prefers.
  • Space out your spikes evenly in sections and place first as the top layer then place your wider, shorter fluffy fans in between. If your placement is not even it will be very obvious.
  • B-Curls are a great option for your spikes and weights 0.05 and 0.03 to maintain the health of the natural lash. Apply Pre-treatment onto a spoolie and brush through the lashes so the lashes stay closed together when you pick them up just like wet look lashes.

How to care for your wetlook lashes

The first 48 hours after your appointment are crucial for getting maximum results of the procedure since the adhesive is still drying.

  • Don’t touch or pull your lashes.
  • Don’t use mascara or other makeup products around your eyes.
  • Don’t get the lashes wet.
  • Don’t use eyelash curlers or sleep face down.

After 48 hours have passed to prolong the lash extensions and have better retention, wash your lash extensions every night with an Oil-Free lash foam and cleanser brush to get rid of proteins, oils, bacteria and makeup. Oil will breakdown the adhesive resulting in the lashes falling out. Brush them with a spoolie to detangle and have your hair dryer blowing up through the lashes low fan low heat.
